What We Do & Where We Work

His Work Foundation works closely with both the Eastern Rites and Roman Rite of the Catholic Church in Africa.

We do life-saving, life-changing, and life-building work in places with little to no outside help from big international NGOs.

Individual priests and local leaders do almost all of the work. His Work Foundation supplies financial support, accountability, and moral encouragement as they meet their daily struggles.

With HWF support, children and those in desperate need are able to live another day and learn life-changing truths. In many cases, they are empowered to begin building a sustainable future.

Thousands of refugees and displaced people have received food, water, and medicine. They've been given much needed relief along with hope and love.

Several churches and chapels have been constructed.  Other needs such as benches (so the congregation does not sit on the floor), vestments, church furnishings, school construction, educational materials, and catechist training are examples of what these priests have asked for and received.

We do life-saving work

Saving Lives

Our priests operate in areas where people's lives are threatened by war,  armed conflict, and oppression. We support refugees by making sure that they are able to eat, drink water, and get the medical help they so desperately need.

Life-saving testimonials

It's difficult to say how many people's lives were saved from starvation, but we know that over 5,000 people received food staples earlier this year, and that's only in one of the many places we send support!

Conflict in Ethiopia is creating Refugees

Armed conflict in Ethiopia continues to displace thousands of innocent people. No one is safe from the threats of violence. Men, women, and children are forced to flee from their homes and their livelihoods. We are busy meeting the immediate needs of these displaced people because their homes have been destroyed in the conflict, and they are refugees.

We do life-changing work

Changing Lives

Many of the communities we serve face absolute material poverty and destitution. They request education, safe transportation, or assistance with basic skills. HWF is passionate about protecting  drinking water, improving local food resources, and providing education materials. We do life-changing work that improves their chance at a healthy life.

Life-Changing testimonials

The people were facing water-born illnesses because of insect and germ infestation in the open water source. Some of these life-threatening illnesses are malaria, dysentery, and even the parasitic worms that cause elephantiases.  Now they are safe from water born illnesses!

A water tank is big news

In many communities we have supported the work of building or installing water tanks. A new water tank stores clean potable water and serves the good people in the surrounding village.

We do life-building work

Building Up Communities

Several churches and chapels have been constructed.  Other needs such as benches (so the congregation does not sit on the floor), vestments, church furnishings, school construction, educational materials, and catechist training are examples of what these priests have asked for and received.

Life-building testimonials

A village priest in Ethiopia reported that rats had eaten his only pair of shoes.  He lived in a rodent infested one room house with a dirt floor.  With HWF support, he not only has new shoes but a cement floor in his new two-room rectory.

The Good News

While most sermons don't require words, many people are hungry for the 'why' behind our acts of kindness and they sit out in the open to learn about our good God. Our priests are going to places where people are spiritually hungry. The people come to hear good news!
